The Alliance for Intellectual Property’s IP Champion Award aims to recognise these efforts by rewarding a person, initiative, service or organisations that help in the protection or promotion of IP. The award is given to the winner each year on British IP Day, normally at a reception on the terrace of the House of Commons.

This year's winner has been awarded to Phil Lewis, Director General of The Anti-Counterfeiting Group.

June 29th 2021 marks our 6th year of British IP Day!

This year we will be hosting our British IP Day celebrations virtually, showcasing the multifaceted contributions Intellectual Property (IP) makes to the UK.

We are seeking an exceptional public affairs professional to join the Alliance for IP to help influence the policy environment around Intellectual Property.

Over the past year, we have been working with lead UK think-tank RUSI on a research project looking at how criminals make money from online piracy, and how a whole-of-system 'follow the money' approach to IP crime is needed to tackle the issue.

With the UK's new-found sovereignty following our exit from the EU, trade negotiations are moving at a fast pace. We submitted our concerns over accession to CPTPP to the Commons International Trade Committee, and Lords International Agreements Sub-Committee.

In September 2020, the UK Intellectual Property Office launched a public call for views on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IP policy. The call for views posed a number of questions on how the IP framework currently relates to AI and the future of AI and IP policy. 

British IP Day celebrates its fifth year! Whilst we were unable to hold our usual celebrations in Parliament on British IP Day, we were sure to not let lockdown stop us from showcasing the huge contribution that IP makes to the UK.

Our annual Winter Reception in Parliament took place on 27 January 2020, celebrating the vital contribution that Intellectual Property (IP) makes right across the UK, and showcasing the fantastic Get it Right campaign
