On behalf of our members, the Alliance for Intellectual Property seeks to influence decision making in Westminster to ensure that we have the best possible IP framework in place to protect our creators. We do this in a number of ways by holding regular events and meetings with MPs across all parties, Government Ministers, Shadow Ministers, Select Committees and the All-Party Parliamentary Group.
In the run up to the 2015 General Election, there was consensus among the main parties within their manifestos that the UK needs a strong IP framework and that our creative industries must be protected.
The All-Party Parliamentary Intellectual Property Group ws launched in 2003 to raise awareness of the value of IP to the UK and the harm caused by IP crime.
The Group is chaired by Pete Wishart MP, and is well represented by all main Westminster parties all coming together for a common cause; to protect our creative industries from the devastating effect of IP crime.
More information can be found on their website here or by contacting Luther Pendragon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Alliance is concerned with ensuring IP rights are valued in the UK and that these rights can be properly protected. Click here for further information
